NukerZ

In NukerZ, you take on the role of a political leader and begin with a fully functioning state economy, represented by a physical Jenga tower. Each block symbolizes a specific segment of the national budget, such as healthcare, education, or infrastructure. 

You must strategize and carefully remove these blocks and reallocate them as war funds, which are then stacked on top of the tower. The higher the tower grows, the more unstable the economy becomes, symbolizing the financial and social pressure that comes with war investment.

You cannot win.

NukerZ is a piece of playable media, an interactive statement to inspire critical thinking regarding the increasing military spending habits of leaders across the globe.

According to the Global Peace Index (p. 41), the average percentage of GDP spent on the military has nearly doubled globally between 2008 and 2023. 

While this reaction is understandable and reasonable in today’s political climate, the huge amounts of national funds invested into getting ready for whatever is about to come is enormous. 

NukerZ isn't a critique of countries preparing to defend themselves, it speaks about the aggressors who make them do so. The ones that are impossible to reason and negotiate with.

This project is not meant to suggest a solution, it's merely an outlet for me to address the alarming signs which have been frustrating me for a while.
